Where ghosts, vampires, witches, and voodoo stories haunt the streets
1. Beignets at Cafe du Monde is a must! I've tried beignets at other places but I think these ones are still the best. 2. Take a ghost tour in the French Quarter because you learn much more about the history of the city and it makes the buildings and landmarks much more interesting. This was one of my favorite things to do in the city. 3. Order the grilled whole red snapper at Pêche. The sauce is out of this world but everything else on the menu is really good too. 4. Do a swamp tour (they're mostly around a 30 min drive from French Quarter). I suggest the Bayou Self Swamp Adventure because this is a private company run by this guy called Lou and he brings you on his boat which only fits around 5-10 people. This is great compared to the airboats you see that fit around 40 people. You see lots of alligators (and you even get to feed them with Captain Lou!! 5. Listen to live jazz at the 21st Amendment, which is also really close to the famous carousel bar at Hotel Monteleone
